City Street Updates

The City’s contractor, Holbrook Asphalt, was scheduled to begin a two-week street improvement project this week, applying a liquid asphalt treatment to several streets, primarily in the northern part of town. However, due to forecasted rain, this work must be rescheduled. Although this project was initially intended to be completed within the next couple of weeks, the extended outlook of rain and cooler temperatures, along with reduced daylight following the end of daylight savings time, necessitate delaying it until spring to ensure the final product meets quality and longevity expectations. Enhancing the condition of Burnet’s streets remains a top priority, and we’re committed to completing this project as soon as conditions allow.

Once this project is ready to begin in the spring, information will be available on the City’s website and social media channels one week before any street is impacted. Additionally, each affected household will receive a notice on the front door 72 hours prior to the start of work.
