COMPOSITION:  The Board of Adjustments (BOA) is composed of five (5) regular members and two (2) alternate members appointed by  the City of Burnet City Council, Burnet County, Texas.

TERMS:  Two (2) years.  No former member of the City Council shall serve as a member of the Board of Adjustment until one (1) year after the completion of his/her City Council term.

MEETINGS: The Board of Adjustments (BOA) meet on an "as needed" basis.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Board of Adjustments (BOA) is a board established by ordinance consistent with State Code 211.008. The Board has the power to hear and determine appeals concerning the refusal of building permits, appeals resulting from administrative decisions and to permit exception to, or variation from zoning regulations. 

MEMBERSHIP: Appointment to the City of Burnet Board of Adjustments requires applicants to reside in the city limits of Burnet and be a registered voter. Submitted applications are presented to the City Council for review and appointment.  Open positions are posted on the City of Burnet website and/or local newspapers. Applicants may complete a Boards and Commissions application located at the bottom of this page.  Submission of the completed application can be emailed to the City Secretary at citysecretary@cityofburnet.com or mailed to City Hall C/O City Secretary's Office.
