City of Burnet Cemeteries
The City of Burnet maintains four cemeteries; Post Mountain Cemetery, Odd Fellows Cemetery, the Old Burnet Cemetery and Burnet Cemetery.
Post Mountain Cemetery is the only cemetery with available plots. Plots are no longer available for sale in the Burnet Cemetery, Old Burnet Cemetery or the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Post Mountain Cemetery:
Post Mountain Cemetery is the largest of the city owned cemeteries and is located off of Highway 29 West on Southland Drive. From Burnet, travel west on Highway 29 (Buchanan Drive) approximately two miles from the intersection of Highways 281 and 29. Turn left onto Southland Drive and then left again on the first road on the left.
Cemetery plots can be purchased with the Development Services Department, at City Hall, for $500 (with a $30 filing fee).
Burnet Cemetery, Old Burnet Cemetery & Odd Fellows Cemetery:
Odd Fellows Cemetery, Old Burnet Cemetery and Burnet Cemetery are located adjacent to each other at the end of South Rhomberg Street. Take Highway 29 East to Rhomberg. Go south on Rhomberg until it dead ends at Cemetery Road. Turn left onto Cemetery Road. Old Burnet Cemetery is the cemetery on the right (West) side of the dirt road, and the Odd Fellows Cemetery is on the left (East) side of the dirt road. The Burnet Cemetery is across the street (North) of the Old Burnet Cemetery.
For information regarding the cemeteries, contact the Building Official's office at the City of Burnet at 512.756.6093 Extension 3206 or Extension 3215.
