April 2, 2025 Update

The contractor will begin mobilizing on the airfield on April 7, 2025, with work officially starting on April 8, 2025. As a result, a NOTAM has been issued for the runway closure from April 8, 2025, at 6:00 AM (CST) to April 21, 2025, at 8:00 PM (CST) to accommodate construction for the airport pavement rehabilitation project.

During this period, the runway will be completely closed to all air traffic, and pilots should plan accordingly. Please note that additional delays will affect the RAMP and Taxiway areas in the future. We will provide updates as more information becomes available regarding the scheduling of these project phases.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to enhance the airport’s infrastructure. For any questions or further information, please contact Adrienne Feild, Airport Manager, at (512) 756-3324.

March 17, 2025 Update

Runway will be closed starting April 7th for the first phase of the TxDOT Pavement Rehabilitation Project. This phase is expected to last two weeks, with the runway anticipated to reopen on April 21st. Unfortunately, due to delays from TxDOT and the project consultants, the City was only notified of this timeline last week. We understand that this short notice is far from ideal and sincerely regret any inconvenience it may cause.

Project Impact & Next Steps
Please note that April 7th–21st marks only the first phase of the project. Additional disruptions will follow as the project progresses, but at this time, we do not have a confirmed schedule for the remaining phases. We will share further updates as soon as we receive them.

Weather-Related Delays
Please note that the timeline for the project may be subject to weather-related delays, which could impact the planned dates for reopening. We will notify you promptly if any changes occur due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.

We recognize the importance of minimizing disruptions to airport operations and will continue working closely with the project consultant, contractor and TxDOT to communicate any changes as quickly as possible. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding as we move forward with these necessary improvements.

Airport Project Update- Box Hangar

Box Hangar 12,000 sq ft(+/-) Project Updates

The City is currently constructing a just under 12,000 sq ft Box Hangar, located between the sun shelters and Hangar Set D. This project also includes additional ramp space. The new hangar will support growth at the airport by improving our facilities.

Current Status & Timeline

Work on the Box Hangar is progressing, and we are currently on track to meet the expected completion date of July 2025, pending weather or other unforeseen delays. We will continue to monitor progress and provide updates should there be any changes to the timeline.

Next Steps & Impact

There may be some temporary disruptions in the area surrounding the hangar site due to construction activities. While we will make every effort to minimize any inconvenience, we ask for your understanding as we work to improve the airport facilities.

We will continue to keep you informed of any significant updates or changes to the project schedule.
