Municipal Court Frequently Asked Questions
Most of the information needed to resolve your citation can be found on this website. If you still have questions regarding your citation, please contact the Court Clerk at (512) 756-2822.
Can I pay my citation online?
In many cases, you can enter a plea and pay your citation online by going to the ONLINE PAYMENTS tab to the right. You can also see a list of any past or pending citations. The ONLINE PAYMENTS tab will take you to a login page. You DO NOT have to register to access the Municipal Court information. Click on the Municipal Court link on the login page. You will be asked for certain information to verify your identity, including your driver's license number. (If you do not have a driver's license number, you should enter eight zeros and the state abbreviation for your home state.) Once you have validated your identity, you will be able to access your information. Once your citation is located, you may be able to enter a plea and pay your fine with a credit or debit card. If your citation cannot be paid online, you will receive an error message. In that case, you must contact the Burnet Municipal Court at 512.756.2822 and speak to the court clerk.

Do I have to see the judge?
You may not have to see the judge. Many citation related tasks can be handled by the court clerk by appearing at the Court window at City Hall. You can also take care of most of the court related tasks by mail or email.
Some violations do require a mandatory hearing with the judge. For example, Minor in Possession of Alcohol, Minor in Consumption of Alcohol, Minor in Possession of Tobacco, are a few examples.

How can I get information about my citation?
Please read your citation and/or information brochure carefully as many of your questions may be answered there. Many of your options require you to appear BEFORE your appearance date. Waiting until you are standing before the judge may be too late to exercise your options.
